Does anyone know why the names of places in Ireland in Google Earth sometimes have Irish in parantheses and sometimes have English in parantheses? Either way the data is listed Google Earth is neat to use. Maidhc Bím ag foghlaim Fáilte Roimh Cheartú

I think it depends on the datasets they have used. Half way through Corca Dhuibhne the nice aerial photograph becomes a clunky reconstruction, for example. |

You will also find that some mountains and other geographical features are in Irish only. They made an effort to list as many placenames in Irish aswell as English. I think having Google EU headquarters in Dublin helps! No roads were elevated during the composition of this message.
