I have a quick drive-by question:

Béarla - Is this pronounced as "bare luh" or "burr luh"? Or are both acceptable depending on dialect?

Fir - is this pronounced as the English "fur" or as in English "fear"?

Thanks!

Béarla, in Standard Irish is b'e:rlə

where

b' is like the "b" in "beauty"

e: is like the "a" in "day"

ə is like the "a" in "about."

My pronunciation of "Fir" approximates Fir as in Fir tree, but with the tongue on the upper palate on the "r"
