OK...so that title is supposed to say "I heard this word on Ros na Rún.
phonetically is sounded like "gdye"...almost identical to the Russian word for "where". I tried to get the cyrillic letters so the linguists would have a better understanding of what I'm hearing...
At any rate...I'm almost certain that the are saying "cad é" due to the context of the conversation. However, the subtitles translate it as "what". However, "ceard" is the word with which I'm most familiar.
Clarification???

That could be...but, the phrase (?) is used in response to a statement.
More like....I'm going to move to Galway...and the response is this "gdye" sounding phrase/word.

It is a weak form of "cad é" which is pronounced as if spelled "goidé". I hope this helps... |

I don't know if this would be a copyright issue, but is it possible to copy Ros na Rún from online while watching or some other method and then download to DVD? If so, any advice on how to do so?

I've had the same thought. You Tube is full of stuff that has been lifted directly from the TG4 archives. I would think that you would be OK with the copyright issues as long as you were not selling the downloaded version.
I would love to have a box set of the Ros na Rún seasons!!
