A Chairde

Ba mhaith liom "bumper sticker" a dhéanamh mar a leanas:

If you can read this, you have Irish, but are too close!

The following is my clumsy attempt to translate

Más rud é fur bhféadann tú an greamaire seo a léamh, tá Gaeilge agat, ach tá tú ró-ghéar

Corrections and greater linguistic elegance welcome

I can offer no linguistic elegance but I think you can shorten the first bit -
Más féidir leat é seo a léamh - If you can read this

Perhaps the whole sentence could be playfully cheekier

Más féidir leat é seo a léamh: tá do chuid Ghaeilge níos fearr ná do thiomáint -
If you can read this: Your Irish is better than your driving..

Wait for others to tart that up :) I'm learning Irish..

GRMA a Aonghuis agus a Asarlai. Is maith liom an leagan a chur Asarlai dom, ach is tiomanaí béasach mé

"Tabhair spás dom, led thoil!"

"Fág spás eadrainn!"

Caminante no hay camino, se hace camino al andar.

^ Go maith!

"Fág spás más féidir leat é seo a léamh" b'fhéidir?

A people without a language of its own is only half a nation.A nation should guard its language more than its territories, 'tis a surer barrier and a more important frontier than mountain or river
