I've been lurking on this site the past two or three days, and found a lot have asked questions about Pimsleur. I e-mailed their customer service today asking if they had any plans to expand the series. They said that they will add 2 more lessons, 10 in total, in March 2007, and then they won't add any more, ever.

Go raibh míle maith agat for the Pimsleur update! Two more lessons is better than nothing.

For those of us who have the older versions (I have it on both cassette and CD), I wonder if they'll simply sell us the two new CDs. Probably not.

Two more lessons or two more CD's? Currently, there are 4 CD's comprising of 8 lessons, so if they're adding two more lessons that will be one more CD.

Either way, when they're done adding the two more "whatevers" and stop any further additions for eternity, the grand total of the vocabulary will probably be a few dozen words, and the learner will know about a dozen verbs at most.

Although I like the Pimsleur approach of constant repetition and focus on some fundamental features of Irish, I find the current content and what lies in the future to be a far cry from giving anyone a decent working knowledge of the Irish language.

They should be adding 50 more lessons.
