Hey guys, my dad was Irish and very proud of it (as am i of being half) and he passed away a couple of months ago. I'd really like to get a gaelic tattoo which translates as: 'Have strength' or 'be strong', as it has a lot of personal importance. Please could someone fill me in on how it is translated. Also, my last name is Madden and was wondering what the Gaelic of that is - i think it's Maídán -am i right? |

(O) Madden : Ó Madáin - earlier form Ó Madadháin. One of the principle septs of the Uí Maine. The Maddens retained their lordship of their territory in east Galway even under the Noman de Burgo supremacy. They are still numerous there. The Surnames of Ireland by Edward MacLysacht |
