Just a short note to William who posted re Invisible Islands - the exploration of mythic Gaelic islands by author Angus Peter Campbell
(the post was Tuesday, October 10, 2006 - 02:49 am:)

We are getting a recording from the BBC of an extract from the programme you refer to - Angus Peter discussing and reading from the book. You, Riona and the others are correct - the link from the BBC is only valid for a week on their site.

We will post a new link for you when we get the recording on-line, and hopefully you will be able to hear the author. He talks about the Hebrides, the future of Gaelic and issues affecting Gaelic and Gaelic speakers today.

All the best with the Daltai Board.

Taing agus beannachd,

That is ever so kind of yourself to be willing to send us a copy of that interview. It sounds very interesting and I was indeed disappointed not to hear it. I look forward to its appearance on here.

Riona,
Taing airson sin. Se do bheatha.

We are pleased to say that an MP3 of the Angus Peter Campbell interview is now available - it can be accessed at:

https://www.otagosecure.com/AngusPeterCampbell_CoverStories_2006.mp3

The usual guidelines apply with regard to accessing audio files, I'm sure no-one needs reminded they need software to listen to the MP3 etc! If anyone has a problem accessing/listening, the MP3 can also be got by going to:

https://www.otagosecure.com

And then from there you right-click on the link on the home page which is identified as 'BBC interview' - then 'Save Target As'. That should do the trick!

The interview is 13 minutes long, is about 5.3MB in size, and contains extracts from the book, as well as numerous
thoughts from Angus Peter.

Leis gach deagh dhurachd,
Otago
