I'm seriously new to this website, and to Gaelic. Anyone know where to begin?

Fáilte (welcome) a Erin. In terms of beginning, you'll probably want to visit some of the other areas of this website. Also, you'll find the archives packed with previous postings on all kinds of subjects related to Irish Gaelic, also known simply as Irish. The shop here online has some good books, including dictionaries, for beginners.

There's a wide range of contributors here at Daltaí, from beginners like me to experienced and very knowledgeable teachers. So, you'll have plenty of opportunity to learn just from the postings and also from asking questions yourself.

Go n-éirí an t-adh leat! (good luck!)

Fáilte, a Erin

The Daltaí contributors are a patient, generous bunch and will give you every encouragement. Don't be wary of asking "stupid" questions, I do it all the time

Suaimhneas,

there is no such thing as a 'stupid' question, I believe.

Stupid silences; stupid answers too. [I put my hand up and admit my guilt here on both counts!] But seeking knowledge is one of many sources of learning. Good to see you encouraging it.

Fáilte romhat, A Erin - Welcome, Erin.

"there is no such thing as a 'stupid' question, I believe"

if that were the case most philosophers would be sensible
