I am currently using Irish On Your Own to learn the Ulster dialect of Irish. I also have the older course Cúrsa Closamhairc Gaeilge which I understand is an early version of Tús M(h)aith. I would be interested in other learner's opinions of these materials. Cúrsa Closamhairc is not as polished as IOYO but I haven't seen Tús Maith yet. Any opinions? |

Subscribe to the yahoogroup "ulsteririshstudy" :-) (I've created it and I'm its moderator as well) All these books are allright, but what they teach is a mix between Donegal Irish and Standard Irish. There are things in, that wouldn't be said by Donegal speakers. On that yahoogroup, I help learners with Tús Maith, they copy the dialogues on emails and I tell her what is Donegal, what isn't and how would people say. And I answer their questions. I think it could interest you. Tír Chonaill abú!
