Hé, I noticed today that comprehension is amplified if one has knowledge of the topic one is reading, as if one only need hang on new words instead of the old one. As well as this, some topics (like geography) are less idiomatic and so less oblique for the learner. Are there simple, factual account resources out there? Like: Sport (gaelic, socair, basketball) Home (knitting, woodwork, painting) Work (computers, office design, interior decor) City (traffic flow, architecture, municipal planning) Some are dry, I know, but would give a spread of language registrars, while not been too idiomatic, so perhaps useful for the learner. |
