A chairde,

For those of you learning Irish, I'd like to share an idea with you.

Several of the students in my Progress in Irish group have started "practise blogs" -- a place where they can write a passage in Irish from time to time using whatever vocab. & grammar they have, and ask readers to offer corrections and/or suggestions for improvement.

For an idea of the potential of this, have a look at some of these:

http://www.ganliagoir.blogspot.com
http://ceol-agus-craic.blogspot.com
http://eanbealtaine.blogspot.com
http://austinirish.blogspot.com
http://mo-bhlog.blogspot.com

If you're a learner, why not try one of these yourself? There are several free blogging services available online, including Blogger, which is hosting all of the above examples.

Are there any brave Daltaí Board members who might like to give this a try as well?

(If you're a fluent speaker or advanced learner, consider stopping by those blogs and offer them any corrections or suggestions you feel might be worthwhile. And the odd word of praise here & there wouldn't go amiss, either.)

Go raibh maith agat uaimse freisin. B'fhéidir nuair a thiocfaidh me ar ais ó Washington D.C. (is b'fhéidir go mbuailfidh mé le mo chara George ansin. Ní bheadh 'fhios 'at!☺) go mbeidh am agam rud éigin a dhéanamh leis. Gabh mo leithscéal le gach duine ach tá an iomarca le déanamh agam na laethanta seo.
Go raibh maith agat a Riona faoi Celtic Spring. Bhí mé ag obair agus ní raibh seans agam scríobh ar ais chugat. Slán go fóilleach.

Conn Ó Muíneacháin was kind enough to mention the practise blogs on his own blog & podcast of 21 August:

By the bye, if any of you are thinking about starting one of these, I have a few invites available for the newest blogging service at vox.com -- at this point the service is available by invitation only. If you'd like to give it a try, drop me a note at .
