I am wondering if anyone out there has any contacts in Galway that work in the museum/heritage sector that they would share with me. I have been trying to find job listings in that industry, but they are not published on any websites or newspapers (that I have found). I am planning to relocate to Galway soon (if I can find a job and get a work permit) and attend the NUIG next year to get my master's degree. I am trying to do most of the work in the US then take a trip to Ireland later this year/early next year to secure the job and an apartment before moving. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Internet is your best bet Id say. If you search around you should find lots of email contacts all over the region. May I suggest you star with these: http://www.countygalway.com/ http://www.irelandwest.ie/ http://www.ireland.ie/ http://www.heritage.ireland.ie/ |

Thanks for the links. I had already tried three of them, but also dug around on the new one. I have literally scoured over one hundred job sites, sites on museums and heritage centers, and even government sites, but none of them have brought me further on my search for a job. I re-check the (30 or so) job sites weekly for new postings, but nothing has caught my eye as a job I'd use my degree with (and there are no jobs that would warrant a work permit to move me to Galway). Any more suggestions would be great. Thanks! Bethrua |
