I've not had much time to go into that site in detail, but straight off I spotted some things that make me uneasy. The Irish vowel 'a' is short - very short, and sounds closely enough to the 'o' in the English word 'hot'. On the sound clip it is pronounced very long - about double the length that it should be. To my ear it is pronounced like 'á'. The pronunciation of the actual 'á' seems very exagerated to my ear.

The letter 'v' is excluded. Granted, it is a fairly recent importation into the Irish alphabet, but it IS there and it is used, so it should not be omitted.

"VOWEL SURPRISES (THE "DIPTHONGS")" [a heading]. Now this one left me squirming.

But don't just take my uneasiness as your guide. Wait and see what others here may have to say. And bear in mind, I have hardly scratched the surface of the site.

Looks like I'm not the only Dip that can't spell diphthong.
