I'm translating this song:
Bhí mise i ngrá le cailín
Le blianta anuas
Lisa ab ainm di
Ach go tobann thánaig sí chugam
Le scéal a bhris mo chroí
I translate it as this:
I loved a girl years ago
Her name was Lisa
But suddenly she came to me
with news that broke my heart
The next verse has me stuck..!
Chuartaigh mise thoir
Agus chuartaigh mise thiar
Chuartaigh mé arís fé dhó
Go dtáinig an lá ar phill mo ghrá
Le fanacht liom go deo

Ceolmhar, a chara I know several women called Laoise. There is a well established Irish harpist called Laoise Kelly. The link below says that Laoise is the Irish form of Louise, but I'm not so sure http://www.behindthename.com/php/view.php?name=laoise The same site defines Lisa as diminutive of Elizabeth.
