Táim ag taisteal go Éire an mhí seo chugainn. Beidh mé i mBÁC formhór an mhí, ach caithfidh mé cúpla lá i Maigh Eo freisin. Léigh mé go bhfuil Gaeltacht ann, ach níl a fhios agam cá bhfuil sé.

Does anyone have a recommendation for which towns in Maigh Eo I should visit?

Níl an ghaeilge láidir ann. Ní amháin sin, ach bíonn drochmheas ag roinnt daoine uirthi! Grrrrr!

A people without a language of its own is only half a nation.A nation should guard its language more than its territories, 'tis a surer barrier and a more important frontier than mountain or river

Julia,

Cuirfidh mórán gach duine i gCeathrú Thaidhg agus ar an Eachléim fáilte romhat má labhraíonn tú leo i nGaeilge. Is féidir leat Gaeilgeoirí den scoth a aimsiú i ngach baile fearainn i nGaeltacht Mhaigh Eo ach dul á lorg. Ní chasfar ort de thaisme iad mar thurasóir áfach. Cuir ceist sa siopa nó sa phub an bhfuil "leaba & bricfeasta" le fáil i dteach ina bhfuil an Ghaeilge á labhairt. Beidh ionadh ort.

Go raibh maith agaibh as na suímh agus an chomhairle, a chairde. Tá sibh an-cuidiúil. Níl mo chuid Gaeilge ro-mhaith fós, ach rachfaidh mé go dtí an Ghealtacht, agus tá siúl agam go buailfidh mé le cúpla Gaeilgeoirí cairdiúil! :)
