The plentiful pessimism dissuaded me from voicing my opinion. What can a little maid from Norway do against such hopeless 'anti-linguality'? Or maybe. . .

A chairde,
What link do I use to see the opinions, I'm excited about (scared of?) reading Norwegiandame's speech. Maybe she'll knock some sense into the world yet. When I went to the page I couldn't find the opinions about the topic in question, just the voting pole itself.

Wow! I enjoyed reading all those posts on that discussion. Go raibh maith agat a Noone, sure and you need a name that is more polite than that. I liked Aonghus's post because it really said something about how things really must be/have been for anyone who would rather conduct business in Irish. I hope that this truly does mean that the "Irish speaking person will be in rather than always out at lunch or busy."

Added me comment there.

Bejaysus, lots of negative comments on that site. Some people are so bitter about their heritage.. there's something more to their bitterness than beats the súil...

Is iad na daoine céanna a fhágann na nótaí diúltacha. Níl ann ach triúr nó ceathrar. Ní bheinnse róbhuartha fúthu.
Its the smae people leaving all those negative comments. I wouldn't worry too much about them.

"Óráid Toirní" -- an tagairt é sin do "What the Thunder Said" sa dán The Wasteland le T. S. Eliot?

Go raibh [do rogha meafar] leat!

More of us should write on there, we can take over the comment board, maybe someone of some importance will see what we're saying and we can change their mind, or make a difference in people's opinions or ... pardon my youth and idealism. I didn't know that putting my name in the fill-out form would cause to appear on the page of my comments. Blast! I only don't like that because Riona is my Irish name so it makes sense to just have that, but oh well.

Hmm. B'fhéidir go bhfuil sé "Óráid Thoirní" in ionad "Óráid Toirní". Níl a fhios agam.

Is breá liom an dán "The Wasteland", ach fuair mé an frása sin ó Norwegiandame. Ar aon nós, bhí tagairt an-chliste agat.

Gan dabht. An deacracht a bhí ann go dtí seo go raibh muid ag brath ar dea thoil chun ár gceart plé leis an Stát trénár dteanga fhéin a fháil. Anois tá cearta sonraithe againn, le dlí soléir, agus dualgaisí. No more "I'm sorry, the person who speaks Irish is out to lunch/on holidays/ dead...."

The votes are usually only open for one day, comments for longer.
