"This is one race of people for whom psychoanalysis is of no use whatsoever." Sigmund Freud (about the Irish) Fuair mé an abairt anseo: http://www.corsinet.com/braincandy/qirish.html An gceapann sibh go bhfuil sé fíor? Is má tá, cén fáth? |

Could it be that Siggy Freud "borrowed" this opinion from the Vicar Jonathan Swift when he was bequeathing his inheritance to the construction of Sanatoriums in Ireland, and the Vicar wrote: "If ever there were a race in need of Sanatoriums, 'Tis the Irish!!" Keeping the record straight!! |

Níor bhain dream ar bith tairbhe as riamh. Cá bhfios duit? ’Bhfuil aithne agat ar achan duine dá dtearn anailís mar sin? :-) Tír Chonaill abú!

"Dream ar bith" a scríobh mé, áfach, ní "duine ar bith". Ach is léir dom anois go raibh dul amú orm. Tá dream amháin ann a bhain tairbhe as: na psychoanalysts iad féin. Go raibh [do rogha meafar] leat!

Ceist: an raibh aithne ar bith ag Freud ar Éireanneach ar bith? Is ginearálú atá i gceist, déarfainn, agus mar is gnách, ní chóir aon iontaoibh a bheith ag éinne as. N'fheadar ar thug Freud cuairt riamh ar Éirinn? Ní dóigh liom. Dá bhrí sin, d'fhéadfadh an cás a bheith i bhfad níos measa fós. |
