mear, tapa; cliste; néata, slachtmhar.

If an adjective ends with a vowel, it never changes:

an cailín buí
an bhean bhuí
ainm an fhir ghasta.
ainm na mná gasta.
ainmneacha na ndaoine breá.

Except of course for the special ones like "furasta".

For run-of-the-mill adjectives, the pattern is as follows:

an bosca gorm
an bhéim ghorm
ainm an bhosca ghoirm
ainm na béime goirme
na boscaí gorma
ainmneacha na boscaí gorma
(or weak plural: ainmneacha na bhfear gorm)
tá an bosca níos goirme
bhí an bosca ní ba ghoirme

Fáilte Roimh Cheartúcháin
Ceartaigh rud ar bith atá mícheart -- úsáid phrásaí go háirithe.

Agus fada > faide.

Cloistear / léitear "níos gaiste" sách minic. Is féidir gur faoi anáil "faide" a deirtear é sin. (NB: teoiric shealadach í sin, ¡nada más!)

A Fhir na mBróg agus a Aonghuis, tá níos mó ná ’n caighdeán in Éirinn.

I dTír Chonaill, deirtear "níos goiste" [ɲis ˈgˠɪʃtʲɪ]. Níl ’s agam cad é mar a deirtear ins na Gaeltachtaí eile, ach níorbh ionadh domh dá mbeadh rudaí eile i mbéal a’ phobail.

Tír Chonaill abú!

Is maith is eol dom sin. Is dá bhrí sin a dúirt mé "de réir an Fhoclóir Bhig".
