Traditionally when someone gets married you say

I was afraid to mention I'd prefer saol to beo though because there was a huge discussion on that before. I think the tricky part is that it's like a suggestion or advice to do something in the English version rather than a list of nouns.

The only reason that mine are all nouns is that the Focloir Poca doesn't like verbs so it just gives nouns, either that or it gives verbs sneaked in under a heading of noun. And whatever you say is right about beo, I'd never controdict you because I'd be wrong. I just wanted to try translating it because they say that one learns more when they're trying to translate things. So for future reference, if I try to translate things, everyone should fix them because then I learn things.

Looks like Aonghus answered your question, but in particular, for quotes you start with the backslash, \, followed immediately by the word "quote," followed immediately by the squiggly bracket, {, then what you want to quote, then the other squiggly bracket, }. Watch out for unnecessary spaces, since they'll mess up the quote process.

Here's an example of how to quote.

(backslash)quote{Go máire tú}

Please note that the part (backslash) should be replaced with an actual backslash character, \. I put(backslash) so that you could see the correct formatting without it working. If it worked, all you would see is the quote and hence you would not see how to do it.

So if you replace (backslash) with an actual backslash, \, making sure there is no space between the backslash and the word quote it will show
