A chairde,
Tá deabhadh mór orm i láthair, tá brón orm. Ach an féidir le éinne rá as Gaeilge "A language does not die because is not learned, but because it's not spoken"?.

Go raibh maith agaibh.

"A language does not die because it is not learned, but because it's not spoken"

Maybe something like:

Ní toisc nach bhfoghlaimítear í a fhaigheann teanga bás, ná nach labhraítear.

Not sure about "ná"... I've seen it used like this before:

Cad a chonaic mé ná an rón.
What did I see but the seal.

An bhféidir?? Ní théann teanga i léig óir a an-fhoghlaim; ná nach mbíonn sí labhartha.

Ní de bharr gan í bheith á fhoghlaim a théann teanga i léig, ach de bharr gan í bheith á labhairt.

I mo fhéin, sílim go mbeadh ceart liom ag athrú 'an-fhoghlaim' leis "anfoghlaim". 'Sea nó ní hea?

Cad tá i gceist agat, a Mhaidhc, le "an-fhoghlaim"?

I mo leagan fhéin, sílim go mbaeadh cheart liom dom ag athrú 'an-fhoghlaim' leis "anfoghlaim" "anfoghlaim" a chuir in áit "an-fhoghlaim". 'Sea nó ní hea?

Ní hea! Ní dóigh liom gur feidir "anfhoghlaim" a scríobh.

Ní easpa cainteoirí a mharaíonn teanga, ach easpa cainte.

Faigheann teangacha bás ó easpa cainte, ní ó easpa cainteoirí.

A Aonghuis, bhí mé ag smaoinadh go bhféidir 'anfoghlaim' níos fearr le "poor/ non-learning" agus an-fhoghlaim le "good/great"....
