A chairde,
An bhfuil a fhios ag éinne cé na foirmeanna briathartha a úsaidtear i gcanúintí Chonamara inniu?
Chuala mé gur féidir a rá, mar shampla, 'ghlanadh mé' seachas 'ghlanfainn'...

Sea, chonaic mé cupla uair an litriú scartha mar seo sna haltanna le daoine de mhuintir Árann. Den chuid is mó, baineann sé leis na foirmeacha den chéad phearsa uatha agus den tríú pearsa iolra mar is scartha a úsáidtear na foirmeacha eile, mar tá a fhios ‘ad, creidim, ar fud Chonamara de ghnáth. Ba ‘iúd foirmeacha coinníollacha, mar is cuimhin liom, ach sílim gur féidir iad a fháil sa nGnaithchaite chomh maith; buailtear leis an bhfoirm scartha sa gcéad phearsa láithreach, mar ‘glanann mé’, in áit ‘glanaim’.

Le meas, Peter
