Yesterday I saw Martin MaDonagh's "The Lieutenant of Inishmore" on Broadway and enjoyed it immensely. It is his third play in the Aran Island triology. He also has his Lenane triology. That's six of his plays set in the Galway Gaeltacht. Has anyone thought of translating one into Irish and putting it into production somewhere?

I read briefly about the show and was glad the Gaeltacht are getting that kind of publicity, on Broadway nonetheless. I'll have to find more about it.

Coimhéad fearg fhear na foighde.

A Lúcais, a chara,

Rinne Micheál Ó Conghaile aistriúchán ar "Banríon Álainn an Lionáin" agus bhí sé le fáil trí Chló Iar-Chonnachta uair amháin. Rinne grúpa radharch as an dráma ag an Fáinne Wearers' cúpla bliain ó shin. Nach raibh tú linn? Tá cóip de agam, má tá suim agat é a léigh.

B'fhéidir go bhfuil na cinn eile le fáil trí CIC freisin.

A Aindréais, a chara,

I understand that there is no such thing as bad publicity, but I am not so sure in this case. McDonagh tends to satarize denizens of the Galway Gaeltacht as dense, demented, or degenerate.

Tá an-bhuíoch agam díot do d'ofráil fhial, a Rath, go raibh míle maith agat, ach bá mhaith liom mo choip féin a fháil. Ba mhaith liom achan fhocal chun chogaint. Bhraith mé coip ag litríocht.com.

Bhí mé ansin is stocha, ach rinne mé dearmad ar an dráma Dhaltaí. Mura a bhfuil mé ag dhul amú go hiomlán, nach raibh Úna McG ag imirt san radharch sin?

A Antaine, a chara,

Fógairt chontúirte: If you sit in the front rows of the orchestra, you might want to wear a rain coat. I was fortunate enough to sit in the third row center and got a wee bit splattered with stage blood.

Is aoibhinn liom saothair McDonagh a Lucas -- sílim go n-aimsíonn sé cuid mhaith de na mothúcháin go díreach i gceart in ainneoin na antics ait a charactair. Rinne mise agus Tomas H. na steamy bits do "Banríon Álainn an Lionáin" in LBI, nach gcuimhin leat?? Tá an dráma beag beckettesque a scríobh Phillip Cummings i Lá cúpla seachtain ó shin á chleactadh againn anois agus muid chun é seo a dhéanamh sa seisiún in Esopus má cheadaítear dúinn! Geofaidh mé cóip den dráma seo ón siopa anseo duit más féidir leat fanacht cóicis eile!
