As I was coming home tonight, I noticed two different signs saying welcome to Cork- Cathair Corcaigh- Should it not be Cathair Chorcaí?
This are brand new signs and if this is wrong, I am going to write to the City Council and to my local TD it's disgraceful!

It is a MISTAKE!

nominative Corcaigh
genitive - Corcaighe (in CO - Corcaí)

cathair is feminine, so all nouns are lenited after it.

So the only RIGHT way for the sign to say is "Fáilte go Cathair Chorcaí"!
