Today I noticed that Google have altered the major placenames all over in Ireland. In some places, Irish comes first with the English in brackets. eg Baile Átha Cliath (Dublin). A lot of towns are still in English eg. Leixlip, Tallaght, Swords, etc Have a look at the screen grab. http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/9388/googleearthirish8oa.jpg It is still intermitently showing geographical features in either Irish or English. I can't figure out why. I might write them a nice big email about it, or even better, pay a visit to Google EU Headquarters in Dublin. (Message edited by ceolmhar on April 19, 2006) |

Probably depending on volunteers to give them translations. Google have been early adopters for multiple languages - I've used google in Irish for years now. It was translated by Vincent Morley. |
