Brón orm arís- Ó Dhia, tosnaím gach thread leis na focail seo! Cúpla ceist le bhur dtoil!

Ag tús na míosa - sin ceart?

triúr mná-sin ceart?

An rabhais as baile inné?-Cad is brí leis sin? -An raibh mé as baile inné?

Sa saorbhriathar aimsir chaite-foirm cheisteach, an bhfuil séimhiú i gceist?

Ag déanamh céim/chéim nó cad?

Is léis gur mhaith leibh dul abhaile
It's clear ye would like or wanted to go home- Sin ceart?

'Maith agat
P.

quote:

Ag tús na míosa

Correct.

Nominative case: an mhí
Genitive case: na míosa

quote:

triúr mná

Incorrect as far as I know.

After beirt, triúr, ceathrar, cúigear... some dialects use the nominative singular, while others use the genitive pural. This would give the following varieties:

triúr bean
triúr ban

Nominative: an bhean, na mná
Genitive: na mná, na mban

quote:

An rabhais as baile inné

An raibh tú as baile inné?

Munster Irish as far as I know.

Dhúnas = I closed.
Dhúnais = You closed.

quote:

Sa saorbhriathar aimsir chaite-foirm cheisteach, an bhfuil séimhiú i gceist?

No.

Ar dúnadh an doras?
Níor dúnadh an doras.
Ar briseadh an fhuinneog?
Níor briseadh an fhuinneog.

quote:

Ag déanamh céim/chéim nó cad?

Ag déanamh céime.

ag + verbal noun + genitive noun (without a séimhiú).

quote:

Is léis gur mhaith leibh dul abhaile
It's clear ye would like or wanted to go home

Are they typo's? Should that not be:

Is léir gur mhaith libh dul abhaile.
It's clear that yiz/ye/yous want to go home.

Fáilte Roimh Cheartúcháin
Correct me for the love of God... I'm a perfectionist! : )

Ag tús na míosa - sin ceart?

Ceart.

Sa saorbhriathar aimsir chaite-foirm cheisteach, an bhfuil séimhiú i gceist?

Tógadh teach. Níor tógadh teach. Ar tógadh teach?

Ag déanamh céim/chéim nó cad?

Tá sé ag déanamh céime i dteangeolaíocht.

(ach déarfadh a lán daoine -- mise san áireamh -- "ag déanamh céim" i gcomhrá)

Is léis gur mhaith leibh dul abhaile

Tá dearmad cló anseo: is léir. Oh, agus "libh" in áit "leibh" de ghnáth.

An rabhais as baile inné
A chara i nGaeilge na Mumhan úsáideann siad an -as -os ag deireadh an bhriathar msh
raibhas= raibh mé
chuas = chuaigh mé
léas = léigh mé
bhainas = bhain mé
dhéanfainn = dheineas
Bhíos = Bhí mé
níos = nigh mé agus mar sin de.
Má léigh/ léigheann tú "Peig" choíche bhain sí úsáid as an bhfoirm thuas den bhriathar go hiondúil.
