Maybe something like: Tá rud maith uaim bás a fháil ar a shon chun an saol a dhéanamh álainn. Fáilte Roimh Cheartúcháin Correct me for the love of God... I'm a perfectionist! : )

Bheadh an saol go hálainn dá mbeadh rud éigin ann a bhfaighinn bás ar a shon. An ndéanfaidh sé sin cúis? |

Cúpla cinn eile: Go múcha mo lasair ar son na háilleachta. May my flame be extinguished on behalf of beauty. nó Go múcha mo lasair ar son cúis álainn. may my flame be extinguished for a beautiful cause. |

I think you'll get many different offers for a translation of this because your original phrase is so cryptic and unspecific. "I want something good to die for to make it beautiful to live" just doesn't make sense unless you're some sort of philosopher. You explain it as: "i want to die 4 something good to make life beautiful" So is this to imply that, if you die for a good reason (martyrdom pehaps), then your life will have been beautiful (or are you referring to the concept of "life" in general?). Something like: If my death is virtuous, my life is beautiful. Más suáilceach an bás a fhaighim, is álainn an saol a chaithim. Fáilte Roimh Cheartúcháin Correct me for the love of God... I'm a perfectionist! : )

Cuireann an bás rudaí álainn fiúntas mór ar an tsaol beo dom. The death of beautiful things gives more value to the living world to me. |

I wonder, by the way, if there is an Irish translation of this story, since it deals in large part with the war in Ireland in 1922. |
