I came across an old silver match holder and it has an inscription: T.T. to J.M. Dublin 1884 and then has the word "Cahirmu" in quotes on it. I know there is a town called Cahir and a Cahir Castle, but I can't find the meaning of Cahirmu. I would appreciate any help. |

Are you certain about "Cahirmu"? Could there be any marks above any of the letters? Is this in the old style script? Is minic a bhris beál duine a shrón.

No, there are no marks. The script is modern. Dwight |

Contact Ghosty on the other site. I think he can tell you exactly what it stands for. In fact he may have already sent you an email already with what it means. |
