I speak very little Irish Gaelic. I'm a high school student and i need to make a t-shirt for a National Language Week. Since I am Irish I thought it would be cool to have an Irish saying on my t-shirt. I decided on either of the following: "Life is like a cup of tea, it's all in how you make it" (because thats one of my favorite sayings) "Friendship, Loyalty, Love" (because thats what the claddagh represents) If you can help me please include the Irish Gaelic translaion for one or both of these and please tell me which one is which. Again, i speak very little Gaelic, but im learning. All i know as of right now are the number and a few other words. Please help. ~Brienne |

1) Life is like a cup of tea, it's all in how you make it. Maybe something like: Tá an saol mar chupán tae, san ullmhú atá an t-iomlán. 2) Friendship, Loyalty, Love Cairdeas, Dílseacht, Grá There's fluent speakers here far more proficient than me, wait for their comments. Fáilte Roimh Cheartúcháin Correct me for the love of God... I'm a perfectionist! : )

Tá an saol cosúil le cupán tae - Life is like a cup of tea - is how I would say it, but Fear_na_mbróg's more proficient than me. Larry Ackerman

In English, you can say "like" or "similar to" or "akin to"... well in Irish there's a few ways also: mar chupán tae cosúil le cupán tae macasamhail chupáin thae ar nós cupáin thae Fáilte Roimh Cheartúcháin Correct me for the love of God... I'm a perfectionist! : )
