Gabh mo leithscéal arís: bhuel tá cúpla rud ag cur isteach orm, b'fhéidir go bhfuil sibh in ann a chabhrú

Don thrá nó don trá?

She lived for only a year after leaving us?

I’d be for ever asking her whether she would come to me when she died?

One night about a year after she had left

News of her death- nuacht faoina bás?

a d’imigh nó a imigh //// a fhág nó a d’fhág?

'Maith agat

only those where i'm relatively sure with:

scríobh tú: Don thrá nó don trá?
i'd say "don trá" but i think this could be dependent on dialect as well...

scríobh tú: a d’imigh nó a imigh / a fhág nó a d’fhág?
definately "a d'imigh" and "a d'fhág"

tá brón orm ach níl mé in ann a chabhrú leat leis na haistriúcháin eile.

She lived for only a year after leaving us

Ní raibh sí beo ach bliain amháin tar éis di muid a fhágáil.

Níor mhair sí ach bliain tar éis ár bhfágáil di. (??)

One night about a year after she had left

Oíche amháin timpeall is bliain tar éis imeacht di

News of her death- nuacht faoina bás?

Tá focal amháin ann a chiallaíonn "news of death", mar atá tásc:

Tháinig a tásc inné. = The news of her death came yesterday.

Tá níos mó ná slí amháin ann leis na rudaí seo a rá, ar ndóigh, ach tá mé réasúnta cinnte go bhfuil na haistriúcháin thuas ceart go leor. FRC

"Scéala a bháis" a bheadh agamsa.

Ní raibh tásc agam.

An ceart ar fad agat, a Aonghuis, ach ba bhreá liom "tásc" a athbheochan ó tá sé sa teanga. Agus is maith liom focail ghonta.

Seachas sa nath "tásc ná tuairisc", agus níor thuigeas ansin go dtí seo. GRMA as sin.

Yes. In Connemara: don trá
In Ulster: don tráigh
In Munster: don dtrá(igh?)

(Never séimhiú on d, t, s after the article "an")

She lived for only a year after leaving us

Ní raibh sí beo ach bliain amháin tar éis di muid a fhágáil.

Níor mhair sí ach bliain tar éis ár bhfágáil di. (??)

Ulster: Cha rabh sí beo ach bliain i ndiaidh daoithe muid a dh'fhágáilt / i ndiaidh daoithe ár bhfágáilt.

One night about a year after she had left

Oíche amháin timpeall is bliain tar éis imeacht di

Ulster: Oíche thart fá bhliain i ndiaidh daoithe imeacht.

I’d be for ever asking her whether she would come to me when she died?

diafriagh me di go deo, ce acu gur dtainaig si chugam, nuair a chiall sise.

Correction:
(Standard Irish) D'fhiafraínn i gcónaí di an dtiocfadh sí chugam nuair a fuair sí bás / nuair a cailleadh í.

(Ulster) D'fhiabhróchainn i gcónaí daoithe an dtiocfadh sí fá mo dhéin nuair a fuair sí bás.

Tír Chonaill abú!
