Was reading through the Sunday Trib a few days ago and a folded poster fell out of it. It was a big world map with animals on it. Boring enough I thought, but then I realised that it was all in Irish! A1 sized world map about protected animals all in Irish.

Anyone else get a copy? Kind of a bunscoil-on-the-wall thing for kids but it has all the world countries in Irish with some blurb about apes, pandas and other funny looking beasts.

Anyway, I've stuck it on me wall. It should help me to learn country names. It was translated by http://www.cogg.ie/

Took some photos of it:

One other thing:

I enrolled myself in the Gaelchultúr in Barra an Tempaill for a 12 week course. It's the lower intermediate course designed for leaving cert students who have gone a bit rusty. It's 7 years since I did the leaving so this should be challenging enough.

I'm really looking forward to it but I don't think it's going to be easy.

Currently learning Irish and English. Please bear with me.

An bhfuil fhios ag éinne cá bhfuil sé le fáil anois is cé mhéid atá air?

I have some posters like this from www.litriocht.com

One is a diagram of An tSúil, with everything translated into irish...the same with An Cnámharlach.

I also have a map of Europe all in Irish, I'm jealous of one with all the world...

Wouldn't have put the trib down for that type of pro-Gaeilge stuff.. Fair play to them.. Was it sponsored by Foras or someone?

A people without a language of its own is only half a nation.A nation should guard its language more than its territories, 'tis a surer barrier and a more important frontier than mountain or river

Yeah, I was quite surprised meself. There is absolutly no mention of sponsorship on the poster. There's a logo from cogg.ie who did the translation.

Could somebody translate the message of 'Fear n (Unregistered Guest)'. I get the gist of it but I don't wan't to reply with nonsense :( grma

Translation sought by Ceolmhar:

It's lovely!

Does anyone know where it's available now and how much it costs?

Looks like someone has his "fears" mixed up.

Ní maith é an duine a bheith leis féin.
