I need to know how to say "Only God will judge me." in Gaelige, but I'm not good enough yet to be able to do an accurate translation. |

I assume you're Irish, with a name like Irishmurphy. On the last day, tradition says that St. Patrick gets to judge the Irish. We're hoping we'll get some leniency since he seems to be so fond of us. |

Yeah, damn near full blooded. I got a bit of scottish in me from my mothers side. My grandpa taught me a bit of Gaeilge before he died, but I never got more than a couple of words. |

Maith go leor. Go raibh maith agat. Ní maith é an duine a bheith leis féin.

Síocháin leat go deo Peace be with you forever. Aonghus translated the other one for you. A people without a language of its own is only half a nation.A nation should guard its language more than its territories, 'tis a surer barrier and a more important frontier than mountain or river

Re: 'Until we meet again': Many years ago, an Irish speaker suggested to me the following translation of the above. May I respectfully share it here in response to the posting: Go dtí an t-am inár mbeimid le chéile arís. |

How about, 'Go mbuailfimís le chéile arís' for 'Until we meet again'? For 'Rest in Peace', how about, 'Go dtuga Dia suaimhneas dod' anam' (or 'dá anam' if we're talking about him and not to him)? C |

What tense is that: Go gcasfar ar a chéile arís muid I would've thought it would be: Go gcasa ar a chéile arís muid Fáilte Roimh Cheartúcháin
