One day St Paddy was galavanting around the country and he came to Ráth Droma Deirg, where Fionn and the boys used to hang around. He was blessing the old fort when his aide de camps saw a big lump of a old man, followed by nine warriors heading in his direction. They were a bit apprehensive about Patrick, because he certainly didn't look like a run of the mill guy for the times that were in it. When the big guy came his length, Patrick threw a lock a holy water on his head, and there and then a pack of demons rose up out of his head and disappeared up into the clouds (ie somewhere heaveny) "Great stuff" says Patrick, "what do they call you sir?" "Caoilte Mhic Ronáin" says he "It's amazing that you are still alive these days so long after the Fianna" says Patrick "And Caoilte, how come you've managed to live so long?" "I'd tell yous that story, but I'm hungry and I've lost my hunting prowess" says Caoilte. "Share out that grub" says Patrick to Seachnall Easpag "and give these boyos half of it" Caoilte sat down next to Patrick and ate and drank his full...and then he told his story.... ************************************************** Did you get this far ok Lindsay, with the Irish version? This is a quick version of the first page....nothing too accurate or fancy... Má tchíonn tú earráid chló/litrithe nó ghramadaí anseo, coinnigh faoi rún í, agus tabhair bualadh bos duit féin :-)

OOps, I think its the case that the Aides de Camp of Patricks were a bit startled because the Caoilte boyo looked a bit different from the folks of that time...not the other way around Má tchíonn tú earráid chló/litrithe nó ghramadaí anseo, coinnigh faoi rún í, agus tabhair bualadh bos duit féin :-)
