Is mithid an toirtín beag is ár mbeannacht a scaoileadh le breac-Ghaeltacht Joe O Toole. Is léir nach bhfuilid sásta le stadas iomlán Gaeltachta.

Sin é mo mheas th'éis a bheith ag éisteacht le caint An tSeanadóra Joe O Toole faoi agallamh ag Finín Ó Tuama ar Raidió na Gaeltachta ar maidin (8.40rn). (An-cheisteoir raidió is ea an tuairisceoir céanna, F. Ó T.)

"breac-Ghaeltacht Joe O Toole"?

An é sin Daingean Uí Chúise?

An fíor nár bhfuair ach ceathrar sa mbaile an deontas labhartha Roinn na Gaeltachta i mbliana?

Ná bac Joe O Toole.

Tá tabhacht leis an Daingean a bheith sa Ghaeltacht chun larionad do Chorca Dhuibhne a bheith sa Ghaeltacht. Féach an toradh a bhí ar Uíbh Rathach toisc gan baile mór a bheith sa Ghaeltacht - easpa meanscolaíochta i nGaeilge, etc, etc.

Ar a laghad má tá an Daingean in ainm is a bheith sa Ghaeltacht, beidh seirbhisí ar fáil níos fusa do chleas Corca Dhuibhne i nGaeilge faoin Acht Teanga, etc.

Maidir le scéim labhairt na Gaeilge - ní chuirtear faoi agallamh teaghlaigh nach n-iarrann é. Agus n'fheadar cé mhéid teaghlach le leanaí bunscoile atá sa Daingean pé scéal é?

Dar liom, muna bhfuil Gaeilge ann mar gnáth teanga labhartha, ní fhéadfadh á maíomh mar baile Gaeiltachta.
Is dóigh go bhfuil ciall lena neir Aonghus, agus mar sin, ba chuí "catagóir" eile a aimsiú dó mar bhaile. Is fimínteacht ghlan caitheamh leis mar áit labhartha Gaeilge má bhíonn áiteanna eile thíos leis.
Má tá Daingean ann, tá Gailleamh, tá Béal Átha Mhuiread, tá Leitir Ceanainn, tá Dún Mhanmhaí ann.

Is dóigh liom go bhfuil gá caiteamh leis an nGaeltacht mar a chaitear le haon scéim caomhnaithe eile - fáinní thart ar a chéile le rialacha a éiríonn níos daigne de réir mar a théann tú níos gaire don croí atá le caomhnú.

Ach 'sé mo thaithí ar an Daingean go bhfuil gaeilge a labhairt ann ag muitir na háite. Bhí mé in ann siopadóireacht a dhéanamh tré ghaeilge ann, ticeid a cheannach san uiscedeán tré ghaeilge, ....
