I am getting a tattoo of an old irish quote which i dont have with me right now. But, i remember reading something that even if someone were to translate it, then it has to be translated again. Then i read that there is a totally different alphabet in which to write it. I hope this makes sense. Any help is appreciated very very much. Thank you.

The short answer is no.

The only difference is that Irish used to use a dot above consonants where nowadays a h is written out.
