Anyone ever use the course Tus Maith 1 and/or 2? Any opinions on it? Ive seen it on litriocht.com and oideas-gael.com for about 30 euro. Is it worthwhile?

I have a copy. It looks quite good. But there is very little explanation of the pronunciation - the writer simply expects you to copy the CDs. Also the grammatical explanations often lag many chapters behind examples of usage. It is a practical course - the first chapters are on subjects such as telling the time. I don't think declensions are mentioned anywhere. It is meant to be Ulster Irish, and uses some non-native speakers from Northern Ireland as well as native speakers from Donegal on the tapes. Each lesson ends with a song - but the language of the songs is not explained and is way beyond the learner. The songs seem to be a slightly twee form of traditional culture. If your idea of Ireland is one of an Emerald Isle with people wearing Celtic crosses and playing harps - you'll love the songs!!
