For anyone in the Maryland / Northern Virginia / close area, I found a pamphlet at the Baltimore Irish Festival (incidentally, contained some Irish language t-shirts and a copy of Harry Potter agus an Orchloch) with some interesting information. Irish Language Lessons $50.00 fee for 10 classes. Bring a notebook. 2 Locations beginners: when: wednesday nights first class: october 5, 2005 time: 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. where: mechanicsville elementary school 3838 Sykesville Rd. Sykesville, MD 21784 beginners & advanced beginners when: tuesday nights time: 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. where: catonsville middle edmondson avenue catonsville, MD Scoil Cairte (Catonsville beginners are asked to preregister by calling Tricia at (410)-747-0263 or e-mail learnirish(at)aol.com I think I'm going to do this; not sure if I'm up for beginner or advanced beginner. If anyone else is in the area they might be interested too. Also ... anyone else in the area might also appreciate the Chesapeake Celtic Festival ( http://celticfest.net/) which is upcoming and may also have Irish language content. Yep it says "for more info call: betsy" Ahh, Scoil Scairte, not Scoil Cairte. That makes sense, I was wondering what it meant.. I live really close to Falls Church but I've never heard of any Griff. If/when I go, should I say Hi for you? :) Sean-mhian an tsiubhail ag preabadh..

Deffo! I'll alert Griff to the thread here and maybe he'll explain further - it used to be on Monday nights at the 4 Provinces Pubs and sometimes Mondays and Wednesdays, but I haven't gone in years and years. By the way is é mo thuairim that you have to think of a more positive handle there! |
