I was wondering if anyone on this board intended to go to the Irish language weekend in Quebec this November. I'm trying to work out how many people to expect this year. To let me know if you are or for details, email Thanks. Alex. Alex. -- Music Happens. Live with it.

I'd be happy to pass along an announcement to them if you have details (Quebec's not all that far for some of us). Unfortunately, I went looking for comhra.org and it seems to not be working at the moment. Le meas, Cionaodh http://www.gaeilge.org FRC - Fáilte Roimh Cheartúcháin

I'm going to the Chesapeake Celtic Festival on October 1st (not going to be very Gaeilge-heavy) but that's the extent of my related activities in the near future. I haven't spoken to someone in Irish since my teacher departed circa May. I'd love to hear about anything else. Nice link in your signature, Cionaodh, too bad for me it's in Nua Shasana and not near northern Virginia :( Sean-mhian an tsiubhail ag preabadh..

Scríobh Drochfhuaimniú: >>Nice link in your signature, Cionaodh, too >>bad for me it's in Nua Shasana and not near >>northern Virginia Which "north" are you -- closer to Alexandria or Front Royal? If it's the former, there's a Washington branch of CnaG: http://www.chesapeake.net/%7Eseosamh/cngwash.html My wife and I were passing through the Front Royal area last year en route to Charlottesville, hoping we might hear of some Irish study groups along the way, but we found none. There's a hidden gem in C-ville, though -- Seanchaí Books ( http://www.seanchaibooks.com/). They bought out the Irish language book stock formerly carried by Angela Carter at New York's Keshcarrigan (sp?) Books (later known as "The Irish Book Shop"). It might be worth a Saturday drive for you to go see what they've got. Call or e-mail Patrick Farrell first (contact info on the website), as most of their Irish language books are in storage (he mainly sells Irish-related books written in English -- only a handful of Gaeilge items on the shelves). My wife and I came away with 2 huge boxes of books for a great price. Seanchaí Books is a bookshop-within-a-bookshop. They rent space from Blue Dolphin Books, located "on the mall" in downtown C-ville. If you decide to go, drop me a note; I have a recommendation for a place to get a great lunch or dinner in C-ville for a great price. Well if you look here ... I am in Fairfax, which is a handful of miles from washington D.C. (basically the whole region I live in is a mix of Centreville, Chantilly & Fairfax) Hm, Charlottesville isn't that far ... Unfortunately the CnaG branch in Washington seems to be pretty inactive. My old teacher had no luck contacting them and the website was last updated in 2002. Sean-mhian an tsiubhail ag preabadh..

Comhra.org is offline at the moment, changing servers and domain registrars at the same time, 'fraid that's my fault. Details are simple. 150$ CDN per adult 100$ CDN per child Based on double occupancy. We're not asking for registrations yet, just trying to informally find out how many people we should plan for. Actual info will be set up on our website within a week or so, including registration forms. Alex. -- Music Happens. Live with it.
