Does anyone know a place where one could get T-shirts in Irish on the web? "Ar ní gnáth orgain cen scéola do ernam esi do innisin scél dara n-esi is mesi dano in fer sin"

You can also find the odd one or two here.. http://www.sinnfeinbookshop.com/ Altho obviously enough, they're more politically involved than Language involved.. Still Gaeilge tho! Ní Síocháin Go Saoirse. Is í slánú na Gaeilge athghabháil na Saoirse

I like the Dialects shirts in the green on the cafepress one, and the IGTF regular is alright ... although I can't read some of it and I'm not an IGTF regular :( Sinn Féin only has a couple of shirts. Hmm. Spailpin has a handful of good ones too :). Thanks! "Ar ní gnáth orgain cen scéola do ernam esi do innisin scél dara n-esi is mesi dano in fer sin"

Today FM Store- "Taispeáin dom de airgead!!" Show to me the money? I'm not sure what "de" is "Tá mé completely as mo bhosca!" I am completely in my box? Not sure what a 'spanner' is .. must be Hiberno-English slang? Siopa Gaeilge has some great stuff, too--and excellent translations. Thanks antaine & Domhnall! As mo bhosca - out of my box. Spanner is Brit and Irish for a wrench - not slang - just what it's called. |

quote:"Taispeáin dom de airgead!!" Almost certainly a perversion of the line from Jerry Maguire: Show me the money which could translate as: Taispeáin dom an t-airgead "de airgead" in the example you cited is just plain wrong. |

Or, given the other examples, it's a mixture of Irish and Hiberno English. (de = the) Look: it's Hectorais quote:Featuring a slogan from one of our newest Gift Grub characters 'Hector'. Taispeáin dom de airgead!! (Message edited by aonghus on August 17, 2005) |
