Conas a chuirtear béim i nGaeilge? I mBéarla, in a lán cásanna, déarfá eascainne ach tá a fhios agam nach bhfuil aon eascainne ceart i nGaeilge. An bhfuil an nath 'an diabhal' oiriúntach? An athraítear aon fhocal eile ann? GRMA le do chabhrú.

In ainm Chroim, cé dúirt leat nach bhfuil eascainní i nGaeilge? Muise, níl ansin ach cac agus dearg chac!

Ceapaim gur tusa a dúirt sé, chuala mé é ar an suíomh seo ar aon nós. Pé scéal é, conas a chuirtear béim as Gaeilge?

Ní dúirt mise riamh nach raibh mallachtaí ann, nó má dúirt, ní daríre a bhí mé.

Sa mhéid a bhí thuas agam bhíos ag léiriú go bhfuil na rudaí mallaithe ann, dar fia!

A Jonas, creidim gur an "béim" atá i gceist aige ná drochnós Éireannaigh mionnaí móra a usáid mar aidiachtaí agus dobhriathair!

Ceart go leor a Aonghus, creidim thú. B'fhéidir nár thuig mé rud a dúradh. An bhfuil sampla agat dona mallachtaí seo?

A Jonas, bhi i m'intinn agam ná rudaí mar (brón orm faoin mBéarla agus faoin mallachtaí) "What the fuck are you doing?" "unbe-fucking-leivable" "I don't have the faintest idea what you're on about" "What the fuck!" agus araile.

Go raibh maith agat a Shéamas. Ach, cad is ciall le "T'anam 'on diach"? Cad é i bhfoirm fhada? "What the duece!?" nó rud éigin?

Cúpla modh le béim a chur in iúl sa Ghaeilge.

A) mé - mise, tú - tusa, sé - seisean

Shroicheamar barr an tsléibhe; bhí tuirse uirthise, ach bhí mise ceart go leor.
We reached the top of the mountain; she was tired, but I was ok.
(B'fhéidir gur ceart cló iodálach a úsáid san abairt Béarla)

B) Bris abairt as a chéile trí úsáid an bhriathair "Is"

As Béarla:
Q: Who opened the door?
A: I opened the door.

As Gaeilge:
C: Cé a d'oscail an doras?
F: Mise a d'oscail an doras.

Mise an d'oscail an doras = Is mise a d'oscail an doras.

Ach is féidir do ghuth a úsáid freisin, mar shampla abair focal áirithe níos airde. Nuair a bhíonn "mise" nó úsáid "is" leor, ní gá do ghuth a ardú, ach i gcásann eile, mothaigh saor an béim a chur i iúl trí úsaíd do ghutha

T'anam = do anam
'on = don
diach = leasainm don diabhal. Faightear an abairt seo go minic sna seanleabhair (Fiche Bliain ag Fás, m.s.).
Nílim cinnte, ach sílim gur scríobh seisean m'anam don diúcs. Is fada ó léigh mé an leabhar sin anois.

Maith agat arís a Shéamas.

A Fhir na mBróg, tá a fhios agam ar na mionábhair sin, ní raibh sin i m'intinn agam, ach maith agat ar do chabhrú.
