"Samhlaíonn sé comhlacht a mbeadh air ionadaithe ó chomhlachtaí Tynwald (parlaimint Mhanann) chomh maith leis an Roinn Chomhshaoil, an MNH, an Chomhairle Ealaíon agus comhlachtaí stáit eile."

I originally thought it meant "co-existence" until I saw it used as the name of a government department. Department of Co-existence?

I thought Environment was = timpeallacht.
Ní fheicim comhshaol sa bhfoclóir ach 'comhshaolach' = contemporary.

Bhí a fhios agam faoi "chomhshaolach" cheana féin.

Roinn Chomhshaoil = Department of Contemporarity?????

B'fhéidir gur focal eile ar "environment" é sin.

Imshaol = environment, chomh maith.

Hmmmm, co-existence....ecology, b'fhéidir?

I now have O'Dónaill in front of me.
No word 'comhshaol' or similar to be found other than 'comhshaolach' - equally long lived; contemporary.
Anybody got an explanation?

Remember that "comhshaoil" is the genitive of "comhshaol"...
