A Chairde: Dineen uses this phrase tongue in cheek in reference to an "illegtitimate child." Dineen, Foclóir Geadhilge Béarla, p. 1194) “Tháinig sé le teas na gréine. Dineen also takes some "liberties" with Tháinig. Tháinig Nell, Nell has been delivered; Tháinig an bó, the cow has calved. Illegitimate Child: “Tháinig sé le teas na gréine. He has been born by heat (passion) of the sun? He was brought forth by the sun's heat (passion)? He has been delievered by passion of the sun. My translations seem clumsy. Any suggestions would be appreciated. A páiste gréine is "a love child." OD, p. 671 Go raibh maith agaibh. dc DC
