A lot of people come to the Forum looking for help with Irish phrases for tattoos. Naturally they want to get it right beforehand! Two thoughts come to mind:

A) It would be fun to see the outcomes. Has anyone ever put up, or thought of putting up, a site where the proud wearers could post photos of their ink?

B) It would be useful to have a reliable FAQ up somewhere with a collection of suitable phrases, mottos, etc., all certified grammatically, idiomatically and orthographically correct!

I recently had the opportunity to decide whether or not to render an incorrect translation for a tattoo on purpose.

my barber has a skinhead customer (I didn't ask...I didn't want to know...) that wanted white power slogans translated to irish for tattoos...I was rather tempted to give translations that meant pretty much the opposite of that requested, just for the poetic irony of it all...in the end I simply declined to do the translations...
