I know! I can't wait. I love Harry Potter(as a sixteen year old, that can be seen as a bit sad), and I'd love to see it as gaeilge.

I'm sixteen and I love Harry Potter. We can be "sad" together!

Em, I'm more than both of your ages combined and is aoibhinn liom harry potter -- I'm convinced the HP series of books will be like Dickens one day. Oliver Twist was a child, but his story isn't only a child's story either. Téigí beirt go dtí GOOGLE agus déan search ar 'harry potter for adults' to see how many HP websites for grown-ups are out there -- níl sibhse 'sad' ar bith, is é go bhfuil sibh níos cliste ná na daoine fásta! Tá mé ag tnúth leis an leabhar nua atá le teacht . . .

A bheidh dhá oiread chomh tiubh leis an ceann a chuaigh roimhe a bhí dhá oiread chomh tiubh leis an ceann roimhe sin....

Is dóigh liom nach bhfuil sé de mhisneach ag aoinne eagarthóireacht a dhéanamh ar JK Rowlings a thuilleadh!

Táim idir dhá chomhairle maidir le fiúntais na leabhair.

Beidh mo phaistí ag bualadh le lucht Telegael de Luáin, chun iarracht a dhéanamh bheith in a ghuthanna don chlár!

Ní thuigim an abairt sin a Aonghuis,

An bhfuil an sruth iomlán léite agat i mBéarla? Ádh mór ar do phaistí!

Cén abairt?

Tá an chuid is mó den tsraith léite agam.

Bhí an chéad leabhar sách beag.
Bhí an dara leabhar a dhá oiread chomh tiubh leis an gcéad leabhar
Bhí an leabhar deiridh chomh tiubh sin go raibh cosc ar fir an phoist sa bhreatain níos mó ná 16 cóip a iompar ag aon am amháin...

tiubh [aidiacht]
ramhar, dlúth (éadach tiubh; gruaig, ola, thiubh); trom (ag cur, ag lámhach, go tiubh); mear, tapa (labhairt go tiubh).

Tá sé iontach go raibh 1000 gasúr le Gaeilge cruinn amach ansin a raibh suim acu ann. Ádh mór oraibh a Aonghuis!

Níl fhios agam faoin gcruinneas ()

Beidh le feiscint, GRMA don ghuí.

(PS maith dhom é, ach is "amuigh ansin" a bheadh ceart. Bíonn gluaiseacht i gceist le amach/isteach, agus suíomh le amuigh/istigh)

Tuigim na riallacha sin faoi gluaiseacht a Aonghuis ach ní raibh me ag smaoineamh futhu agus mé ag scríobh-- ach cloisim 'amach anseo' for 'out there' chomh maith. N'fheadair c'en fáth!

(ó litriocht.com)
Amach.
Alan Titley
An Gúm
IBSN 1 85791 455 4

“Cá bhfuil tusa ag dul?” arsa mo mháthair liom agus mé in aice an dorais. “Amach” arsa mise. “Ca bhfuil amach?” ar sise. Tá amach an-mhór “Amach ansin,” arsa mise mó mhear á síneadh agam i dtreo na sráide, “tá a fhios agat”. Úrscéal gairid simplí ó údar a thuigeann aigne an déagóra.

“Where are you going?” said my mother to me at the door. “Out,” I said. “Where’s out?” she said. “Out is very big. ”Out there,” I said pointing to the door. “You know.” A short simple novel by an author who understands the mind of the teenager.

Ciallaíonn "amach anseo" "in future" seachas "out there"

Agus is dóigh liom go bhfuil Alan groí ag lúbadh na teangan san sliiohct thuas (mar is dual do)

Cá bhfuil "amach"? ar sise. Tá "amach" an-mhór
"(Tá mé ag dul) amach ansin"

Má amharcann tú ar mar sin, níl aon riail briste!

I would translate:

Ní íosfaidh mé iad amach anseo.

as:

I won't eat them from here on in.

(or in Irish: from here on out)
