I'm getting a tattoo done on both my forearms. They will be going up and down the underside of each arm extending form the wrist to the elbow. I have 2 phrases that are going on my arms and I want them in Irish/Gaelic since I am full blooded irish, and no one else has done that as far as I know. Plus I hate those people with the japanese symbols, it has been done 1000000 times. Well the sentences I need translated are 1. This world won't break me 2. I'll die for my beliefs If any of you can translate this or even a few words that would be awesome. And I will post my tatt when it's done. Thanks. |

Be careful with these requests. A word for word translation probably won't sound right to a native speaker. Also, beware of the Tiocfaidh ar la phrase. It'll probably put you on somebody's "watch list" at the state department!! |

1. This world won't break me 2. I'll die for my beliefs 1. Ní bhrisfidh an domhan mé 2. Gheobhaidh mé bás as ucht mo bharúlacha Not sure if "as ucht" is the best term to use. |

Does anyone know of a free online translation service?? Every now & again I'm looking for coupla focal but don't know which way to turn! -- I never paid much attention at school so now I'm having to rely on a poor memory to get me by. ... For example, today I'd like to know the Irish for HAPPY BIRTHDAY. -- I know it's something along the lines of La Bre La Shona Duit (becuase of the song) but doubt the spellings & also not sure where fadas should(n't) go! |
