You can run Firefox in Irish.

This was mentioned here a few months ago, but it's been simplified a little. Instructions are from the Firefox web site:

http://gaeilge.mozdev.org/installation.html

I heard about this from the excellent "An Gaeilgeoir" newsletter from http://www.gaelminn.org/

Yeh, Firefox is good, although the mistakes in the Irish version are really annoying!

A Bheircheairt,

That's just what they want to hear! Here is a snippet from the first link I posted:

Your feedback on our translation work so far would be greatly appreciated. Some good things to look for include:

do the strings in the installer look like reasonable translations that would be well understood?
do the labels for the primary toolbar buttons look like reasonable translations?
do the items on the menubar and the items in the menus look like reasonable translations?
do the items in the preferences/options window, primary tabs, look reasonable?

Please post to the mailing list if you have any bug reports.

A úsáid agam faoi láthair.

An deacracht is mó: Níl "yes" ná "no" sa Ghaeilge: tá sé deacair mar sin ceist a chumadh gurbh "Tá" nó "Níl" an freagra cuí!

Seachas san, tá sé go maith.

Bhuel, b'fhéidir nach bhfuil na teanga ag dul sa dtreo sin?

Is it (Irish) not going that way?

Rud éigin mar:

Deimhneach / Diúltach

b'fhéidir... ?

Or a picture of a thumbs-up or a thumbs-down maybe... or a tick or an X?

Languages were designed to be used by people... computers came later!
