Have you heard that the Speakers' Corner in Temple Bar in Dublin is going as Gaeilge for Seachtain na Gaeilge?

You're allowed to stand on your soapbox and speak out about anything in English, Irish or any language you choose every Sunday from 2-6 at the Speakers' Corner in Temple bar, but this Sunday it will all be in Irish so, come one and all! Come and speak out or come and listen up!
*********************************************************

Ceiliúradh na Gaeilge ag Cúinne na gCainteoirí
> Domhnach 13 Márta
> Cearnóg Barra an Teampaill
> 2pm -6pm

Tá na mílte cainteoirí líofa agus leath líofa ar fud na cathrach nach bhfaigheann an seans a gcuid Gaeilge a chleachtadh. Chun tacú leis an teanga le linn Seachtaine na Gaeilge, tá Barra an Teampaill ag fáiltiú roimh Ghaeilgeoirí na cathrach teacht amach agus labhairt amach, ar aon ámhar faoin spéir ag Cearnóg na gcainteoirí ar Domhnach an 13ú Márta óna 2- 6.

Beidh ó aos óg go haosta ag túraimíocht agus ag díospóreacht lena chéile, agus beidh fáilte roimh filí a gcuid filíocht a leamh freisin.

Seo seans ár dteanga a cheiliúradh ós árd, i gceart lár na cathrach.

Bíodh sí le cloisteáil, Bíodh do chuid le rá agat.
Labhair Amach, as Gaeilge.

Beidh mise agus Deirdre McFarland ó Philadelphia ann agus ag caint faoi Daltaí na Gaeilge ar an soap box atá acu, má cheadtar dúinn. (Níl a fhios ag Deirdre bhocht faoin phlean seo go fóill, áfach, í fós ina codladh . . . ) Mé chomh glórmhar faoi Daltaí le déanaí, b'fhéidir go mbeidh deacracht acu mise a tharraingt siar ón mbosca, ach déanfaidh muid pé scéal é ár n-iarracht is fearr ár ndá phingingse a rá faoi an Gaeltacht só-ghluaiste atá ann i Meiriceá agus Ceannada. Beidh tusa agus do cheann corcra easca a aithint mar sin, dj. Feicfidh muid ansin thú mar sin

Bhi sé an-mhaith ar fad, agus bhuail muid le Aonghus é féin ina steillebheatha ann. Bhí sé chomh deas, gealgháireach, cabhrach agus lán le tuairimí beo agus a mbíonn sé anseo linne isteach scáileáin ár ríomhairíse!

Thosaigh heckler amháin a rá liom i mBéarla agus mé (le tacaíocht Dheirdre) ar an bosca go gcaithfidh muid a bheith ag caint i mBéarla. Dúirt sé go feargach gur fíor Éireannach é cé nach dtuigeann sé Gaeilge. Bhain gach duine a lán taitnimh as a rá leis gur fíor Meiriceánaigh muidne cé go raibh muid ag caint as Gaeilge.

Bhí slua mór ann ag díspóireacht as Gaeilge gan stad ó 2-6pm. Molaim Rossa, an smaoineamh seo agus an misneach atá aige, ag an obair a rinne sé chun tionscadal mar seo a chuir le chéile.

Táim lasta go bun na gcluas anois.

An spraoi a bhí ann, ceart go leor. Go hairithe nuair a léigh Marcas Mac Congail óraid na Feise ón mBéal Bocht; ach gur chuir sé Gall(da) in áit Gael(ach) agus Béarla in áit Gaeilge.

Ní fhaca aon fhear corcra!

Dúirt cailindoll:

[Thosaigh heckler amháin a rá liom i mBéarla agus mé (le tacaíocht Dheirdre) ar an bosca go gcaithfidh muid a bheith ag caint i mBéarla. Dúirt sé go feargach gur fíor Éireannach é cé nach dtuigeann sé Gaeilge.]

Nach ait é go mbraitheann duine eile masla air féin nuair a chloiseann sé Gaeilge á labhairt.

De réir Rossa, bíonn an fear céanna ag trasnaíl ar gach aoinne, cuma céard atá a rá acu, nó i ceann teanga.
