Bhí mé ag léamh tríd na seanfhocail ar an suíomh seo agus bhí mé ag smaoineamh, Cad é an seanfhocail is fearr nó is deasa i bhur thuairim?

Ní hansa -- cé nach dóigh liom go bhfuil sé sa chnuasach ar an suíomh seo:

An bith seo is bith cáich ar uair.

Cén brí atá ag "bith" ansin, Dennis?

Bith = world/life.

Its cognates mean "world" in the other Celtic languages: byd in Welsh, bed in Breton, bys in Cornish, bitu- in Gaulish, they all come from Common Celtic *bitu-.

Is fearr leathbhuilín ná bheith gan arán

Is maith liom an ceann sin.

Is maith an seanfhocal seo é.

Trí ní is deacair a thuiscint:

  • Intleacht na mban,
  • Obair na mbeach,
  • Teacht agus imeacht na taoide.

Ach ná inis do mo bhean chéile é.

Meas tú nach bhfuil fhios aici é? Bean a thóg gach fear, agus níl intinn na bhfear ceilte ar mná, mná céile ach go hairithe!
