A Mo Chairde:

First let me take a moment to thank all of you for making the Esopus weekend absolutely amazing! I could go on for hours and hours and chew up many megabites of valuable space but I'll try to refrain for now. Let it suffice for me to say that this past weekend was the single greatest boost to my desire and commitment to this language since my trip to Ireland. What a great group of people you are! You took in a wandering country boy from the south and made him feel right at home. As silly as it sounds, I found myself choking back a tear or two on more than one occasion. It was simply fantastic!

Secondly, I was the geek running around with the big digital camera and I have a pretty good file on hand from the weekend. The Daltai Divas are there as well as a few candids of "herself", Ethel Brogan. Lucas...well, lets just say I've got MORE than one or two of you! I've got a few from the Ceili but my camera and flash weren't "talking" to one another very well so there's only a few that are worth keeping.

I'll post a separate file on my website under "Daltai" so you can view what I have there. Just contact me through that site and give me the specifics on which ones you want. If it's a digital file you want and you're only asking for a few pictures, it'll be no problem for me to forward a few to you. If you want a "real" picture off of my dye-sub printer (8x10) I'll need to charge you a whopping 3 bucks to cover my cost on printing and shipping. (I normally charge 25 bucks for an 8x10 but for you guys....c'mon...how could I charge you guys!?!?) You'll have a bit of difficulty printing from my website (it's a copyright protection issue for the other stuff I do) but I'll send you an electronic version if you want to print it yourself at home.

A Choimhín, I know you probably have tons available already, but if you want any for your update newsletter, just tell me where to send it. Again, contact me through the website and I'll get them to you. I'll also need to know what format you want...jpeg, tiff etc and what your size limitations are.

Erica, Antaine et al... if you gave me a card, yours are on the way. I'll send them electronically unless you specifically asked for a CD.

Again, what a great weekend! I hope some of you can make it to the thing I'm trying to do down here!

Le meas,

James

Is the link already up on the page or is that still "ag teacht go fóill" ? I couldn't find them yet. Maith thú for taking and hosting them! My camera wasn't talking to its battery on Saturday so I'm grateful for any images I can see!

Lynn

James - VB Script is an instrument of the Devil!

Perhaps you could put a direct link up here for the fatally curious?

I tried various options, and ending up downloading! a chunk of VBSCript because Mozilla didn't know what else to do with it.

Lynn, Mo Chara:

I have just a few of you but I'll try to push them to the front of the "upload" pile. I wish I had thought to get you off in a corner with a couple of the other young ladies.....NO, not for that!!! It's just that you looked so classy in that dress and with the scarf! What a GREAT time that was, huh!?!

A Aonghuis,

I wish I knew what VB script is!!

how about this...

standard beginning of www followed by required "dot" (.) immediately followed by jpmcginnisphotography, all in one connected jumble which is then again followed by the ever present and ubiquitous "dot" (.) and the uniquely capitalistic suffix of "com"

I make my apologies now for the quality of the site. I'm trying to build a new one, but I seem to be running into a few problems with Microsoft and the Front Page thing. The "banner ad manager" doesn't exactly work as advertised and it's....well, that's really not for this forum.

I'll have a few pictures posted momentarily. I'll try to add a few per day over the next week or so.

Le meas,

James

Heh heh Aonghus, I must agree with your assessment of VBScript. :-)

OH! You´re the one walking around with that nice digital camera (me being jealous because I want a digital SLR.. lá amháin)!

I didn't get a good look at which camera you have, but I´m sure you took some great pics. From the ones on your website, I can tell they´re all going to be great.

I do a little photography myself, so I can always appreciate another photographer´s work. I didn´t get a lot of time to take pictures this weekend, I was too busy speaking irish and asking questions.

Just to share, here is my photography: http://www.hocanimation.com/site2/photography.html

Go raibh maith agat. Tá súil agam go feicfidh mé pictúir mór (more pictures?) do deireadh seachtain na nDaltai. (wow, someone please correct that, it looks wrong :P)

Slán go fóill,
Christine

Very nice pics, James. GRMA. Felt like I was in the middle of the haymakers jig there with ye and could almost hear your tunes at the session. Miss you all! Lucas, are you teaching WILD THING in that picture? Have they gotten that hot tub installed in Esopus yet?

Problem solved.

When I went to look at your site, there was no daltaí link,

so I tried www.jpmcginnisphotography.com/daltai/

which is where th VB Script came into it.

It has to do with whatever tools you/your ISP use to set up web pages.

A Cailindoll, a chara,

I was so proud of my class at the session. There wasn't more then a few words of Irish among them, and yet they learned Molly na gCuach Ní Chuilleanáin focal ar fhocal, and sang it flawlessly. Mo cheol sibh, a Dhaltaí Dhilis!!!

James caught me turning to the hordes of Gaeileoirí to encourage them to join in the chorus. It was like taking coals to Newcastle. I did not realize that I could still get up on the balls of my feet like that.

I thought it was another great Daltaí weekened. Is mór an trua é nach raibh tú ansin, a Chailín.

Oh, I almosty forgot scéal eile. Camp Neumann at Jamison, PA, is being sold so Daltaí is looking for another site for that weekend. This means Stiobhard will go down in the annals of Daltaí as the last Rose of Jamison.

Mise le meas,

Lúcas
