Greetings, I am new to this forum and this is my first message. I want to see if anybody has read the book The Last of the Celts by Marcus Tanner and what were your opinions of the book? |

Is é do bheatha a Risteárd - welcome in. Sheachnóinn leabhar den chineál sin ar a theideal - The title would keep me away from it - mura mhiste leat - if you don't mind me saying so. Is ionann 'Celts' agus roilsí na raiméise - for 'Celts' read 'coffee table'. I just looked into the archive here and found: http://www.daltai.com/discus/messages/12465/13112.html Basically, save your money and spend your time at some worthwhile book. Ádh mór. |

Seachnaimse a leithéid do leabharthaí gomh maith. Níl aon mhaith iontu ach amháin má tá péipeár de dhíth ort ins a’ leithreas nó le teinidh a chur síos. - I avoid such books as well. They aren't worth anythin except if u need paper in the toilet or to set fire. |

Go raibh maith agat Seosamh Mac Muirí agus Lughaidh, I appreciate your responses as well as writing them in both Irish and English. Unfortunately, I already purchased the book and after getting sick to my stomach I could not finish reading it. Daltai na Gaeilige provides a more hopeful vision of the future of the Irish language and culture. I will continue to proudly pursue learning the Irish language as a tribute to my ancestry. Slán go fóill |

.... I will continue to proudly pursue learning the Irish language as a tribute to my ancestry. Ní fear go dtí thú, tháinig tú slán - There's no one like you, you have come through it - you've survived the waffle. Maith an fear a Risteard - well done, is go n-éirí leat ar lorg do mhuintire - and good luck to you in retracing the way of your people. |
