Hello,
Can anyone recommend a good Irish language class in Ireland? I am a beginner (self taught) and wish to visit Ireland this summer with my 15 year old daughter. I'd appreciate any information. Thanks, Jennifer :)

A chara a Jen309,

I would recommend Oideas Gael. Their website is www.oideas-gael.com

They have week-long summer classes and they're located in Glen Colmcille, one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to in Ireland. Their website indicates the classes are for adults, but I don't see any reason why your daughter couldn't attend the classes. They have classes at every level. They also have a 3-day class - check their schedule.

I went to a 3-day class last October and had the time of my life! The teachers are sooooooo nice and the staff is also. There are many B&B's in the area, and some really beautiful hill walking in the area.

Glen Colmcille is way up north in Donegal, but you can hit the big towns on your way up and back to Shannon. There's Galway, then Sligo, then Donegal town, just to name a few.

Well, that's all I know about Irish classes in Ireland. I'm sure the other members here can recommend other places in Ireland.

Le meas,

Dáithí

A chara A Aonghus,

I tried the link that you show above but it seems to put me into the edit mode and tells me that since I'm not the original poster, I cannot edit the message.

I'm also interested in learning about other language classes available in Ireland.

Go raith maith agat,

Dáithí

The above link is a good one. The original, which Dáithí mentions, has been deleted.
